SIMON TOWNSHEND
East Coast US dates are go!

After the disappointing news regarding the need for The Who to reschedule their US tour, guitarist Simon Townshend has decided to use those plane tickets and is continuing with his series of East Coast dates – in fact he’s added a couple more.  So the British invasion is still on, albeit a one-man affair, and Simon hopes that Who fans will come out to his shows ahead of the band’s rescheduled dates. The #OneManAndHisGuitar tour is on!

As Simon himself says, “It’s strange not being on the road when for months you’ve been mentally preparing yourself for it. Being away from home ain’t ever easy so the wind up is considerable. The unexpected late-in-the-day let down leaves one a little out on a limb ... So, I’ve been scheming… I can tell you that I’ve got a few more U.S. solo shows on the go. Maybe some of you dedicated Who fans will feel some solace in the fact I’ll be passing through your area with my acoustic guitar”.

With the cinematic release of the The Who: Live In Hyde Park movie, Simon’s visibility is even greater than usual and these dates are a great chance for Who fans to get up close and personal with this engaging and fired-up performer.  As well as his East Coast dates, Simon is also working with both British Airways and The Cutting Room New York, to put together a show featuring himself and some special guests as a fundraiser for the Teen Cancer America charity which is so close to Roger Daltrey’s heart.

These solo shows are a great way for fans of The Who to get their fix of maximum r ’n’ b while they wait for new dates from the full band.
