The Who play three shows at London’s Forum and one at London’s RAH, their first UK concerts with Pino Palladino on bass.

The First Who Singles Box is released, containing 12 CD singles from ‘I Can’t Explain’ to ‘Real Good Looking Boy’/’Old Red Wine’, which is released simultaneously this same month, all packaged in rare picture sleeves and including a 16-page booklet. A 7" vinyl edition is also released.

Four US concerts June The Who play the Isle of Wight Festival.
July
During a tour of the Pacific Rim, The Who perform in Japan for the first time in their career, followed by shows in Australia, Hawaii and California.

Roger is awarded a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) for services to music, the entertainment industry and charity in HM The Queen's New Year’s Honours List
