THE WHO have announced VINTAGE TROUBLE as the support act for the first leg of their major North American arena tour running from November 1 to December 9, where they’ll perform all of their iconic 1973 double album QUADROPHENIA, along with a selection of WHO classics.

Four guys with a passion for music and a ton of soul, Los Angeles newcomers Vintage Trouble have won over entire continents, bringing an unforgettable fervor to the stage and capturing the hearts of thousands with memorable rock, soul, and blues infused performances. In between touring the world with Bon Jovi, Lenny Kravitz, Brian May of Queen and The Cranberries, Vintage Trouble has headlined smaller venues creating a raucous energy that captivates the audience and turns clubs and pubs into wild late night parties. The band’s undeniable power was captured on an unforgettable TV performance on “Later…with Jools Holland.” Vintage Trouble’s incendiary television debut became one of the most talked about performances of the year, blowing up on Twitter as the 6th most tweeted topic worldwide and saw the band’s self-released debut The Bomb Shelter Sessions immediately chart on several Amazon & iTunes charts, plus debuting in the UK Top 40. Vintage Trouble also won the 2011 Classic Rock Award for “Best New Band.”

The New York Daily News raves “like late-period Humble Pie, Vintage Trouble toughens soul with rock’s muscle,” both HMV and Music Weekly call Vintage Trouble the “Breakout Artist of the Year” and Paste Magazine hails the band’s lead singer as one of the “5 Best New Voices in Music.”

In other WHO news, PETE TOWNSHEND will release his long-awaited autobiography “Who I Am” on October 8 via Harper Collins.  The legendary guitarist/singer/songwriter is expected to make numerous U.S. press appearances (details TBA).  Also, on October 31, VH1 will air the new documentary film “Quadrophenia—Can You See The Real Me” which recently debuted in cinemas nationwide.

Founding members ROGER DALTREY and PETE TOWNSHEND will be joined on tour by Zak Starkey (drums), Pino Palladino (bass), Simon Townshend (guitar/backing vocals), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Loren Gold (keyboards/backing vocals) and Frank Simes (musical director, keyboards/backing vocals).

The AEG-promoted 37-date tour, the band’s first North American tour in four years, kicks off November 1 in Sunrise, FL with an initial six-week run. THE WHO will return in late January with more dates commencing January 28 in Anaheim, CA.  Tickets for the tour are available at www.aeglive.com

  4. Bravo! That’s quite an impressive itinerary. Going to your upcoming concert in Philadelphia is an early Christmas present for me. Congrats to Vintage Trouble, looking forward to seeing them on the tour. Kudos to Pete Townshend on the publication of his book, of which I’m greatly anticipating. “Long live rock! I need it every night.”

  5. Rob Fricke says:

I am so pumped to see my mates again for the 4th time- the first back in Greensboro 30 years ago. Oh man, and to meet Roger agai-maybe, my idol from long ago as little boy hearing “miles and miles’, in the sixties.

To meet face to face at DPAC in October 2009 was a high point of my life. to meet all the guys- i hope- will be my dream come true..

    Long live the WHO!!for ever..

“Jimmy” I think all of us can relate to his personal odyssey told in Quadrophenia in our own way. Growing up in the sixties, my story mimics his in many ways.

–Pete, Roger, let me introduce you/the band December 8th in Philadelphia–

It would be poignant in so many ways!

  13. Josef says:

…went to the gig in Sunrise, Florida last night! Absolute classic! brilliant show! Great set with some added extras thrown in! John Entwistle and Keith “the Mad Man” Moon were cleverly intertwined into the show at different points! I know that they’re getting on in years but what a show! True rock legends! A must see if you can!

  17. Kelly says:

So SAD that fans in the Pacific Northwest are not included in this tour – no Seattle, Portland or Vancouver BC.
