LAMBERT & STAMP Documentary selected for 2014 Sundance Film Festival and Sundance London
Sundance Institute have recently announced the additional selection of LAMBERT & STAMP for the 2014 Sundance Film Festival (January 16-26 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah, U.S.A.) and the third Sundance London film and music festival (April 25-27 at The O2 in London). The screening in Utah in the Festival’s Documentary Premieres section will be the film’s world premiere, and the screening at Sundance London will be its UK premiere. This is the first-ever film concurrently selected for both festivals.
“This is a great event and an important movie for Who fans,” says www.thewho.com’s editor Rob Lee. “The influence, friendship and inspired management of both Chris and Kit on The Who, which guided the band from its raw R & B origins to the sophistications of Tommy and beyond, was deep, as is the enduring gratitude and love for them felt by both Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend.”

DOCUMENTARY PREMIERE
LAMBERT & STAMP / U.S.A. (Director: James D. Cooper) — In this crazy, chaotic gospel of chance, aspiring filmmakers Chris Stamp and Kit Lambert set out to search for a subject for their underground movie, leading them to discover, mentor, and manage the iconic band known as The Who and create rock ‘n’ roll history.
Great news! Wonder how much the documentary will focus on the Who, which was the great discovery Stamp and Lambert were seeking.
Too bad I can’t go to either festivals to see the screening. Although I’m sure I’ll get a hold it in some *not illegal* way. Either way this should be a great film for Who fans! I always feel like the partnership behind the two were so important to The Who and is always glanced over. Kit was Pete’s mentor for a long period; and he had a load of fantastic ideas (John’s solo album with kid sounding music with dark lyrics.) It’ll be great to learn more about the two, since they’re both were great people…
