The Who Nail It in Orlando

The Who gave a rousing performance, to the delight of Who fans young and old, of Quadropenia and Who classics, at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida last night.

The technical problems which has arisen in the first show had vanished and both Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend seemed to relish in the power and energy of their performance. The new production of ‘Quadrophenia’  focuses on presenting Pete Townshend’s score as it was first recorded on the original album. It is accompanied by visuals which add the 4th dimension – Time – to the original concept of the work, which was to represent the four personalities of The Who ‘back then’ – Pete, Roger, John and Keith. It is as if the two surviving members of the band are looking back at the life aqnd times of the band and the context in which they achieved their success.

The second part of the concert was pure magic, with the band rattling through the band’s most famous hits and with Pete and Roger kissing the audience goodnight with a touching performance of ‘Tea And Theatre’, from The Who’s last album, ‘Endless Wire’.

The next gig is in Duluth, GA on Monday November 5th. To buy tickets for this and/or other gigs on the tour, click  HERE.

I’m out of my seat to see them in Detroit on Nov. 24th. My very first concert was The Who back in 1973 at the young age of 13. I’ve been with it ever since. Bless these boys, I’ve been reading all the replys on their gigs & I’m touched to tears. Love the Who!!

Hey Pete and Rog- no CDs or DVDs from this tour? What a shame. It was really good when you did those for the last 3 tours and Roger’s Tommy tour.

Was at Gwinnett Center….there was some sound problems hearing Roger vocals….that being said they were minor….the tribute part to John Entwhistle during “5:15″ was short of AMAZING….well done, an A+…the Moon Tribute during “Bellboy” was good also…the classics after Quadrophenia are the classics…the ending number of “Tea and Theater” was an excellent ending to a memorable evening….just Roger and Pete, a heartwarming finish. Doesn’t get any better.
